As a recent fellow of Women in Music Canada’s Entrepreneurship Accelerator, Grace Skehan is ready to break into the classical music industry and make change—championing new works, new voices, and bold ideas.

In 2023, as a founding member of the Sappho Project, Grace helped commission, produce, and perform the debut of Danika Loren’s work Sappho: Tell Everyone. She is currently building out her recital series Opera is Gay, project dedicated to making opera’s queer subtexts explicit.

As a soloist and chamber musician Grace enjoys a wide variety of projects across the Montreal and Boston music scenes. She has performed with the Handel & Haydn society, Montreal’s Segle Centre, Opera McGill, McGill’s Schulich Singers, Trinity Church Copley Square, and Christ Church Cathedral, Montreal among others.

As a social media manager, her work with performing artists and ensembles has generated millions of views, thousands of followers, and been covered in the National Journal of Singing, OperaNow, and Pulse Mag among others.

Grace is a graduate of McGill University’s Schulich School of Music and has undertaken further training at l'Académie du Domaine Forget de Charlevoix. She is recipient of support from The Phyllis and Bernard Shapiro Fellowship in Opera, The Florence Marjorie Brace Foundation, and The Handel and Haydn Society. She is currently a student of Theodora Nestorova.
